About

Hello and welcome to That Female Biker!

My name's Charly and I run TFB. I am 19, based in Derbyshire and currently hold a full A2 licence which enables me to ride any bike up to 46.6bhp so I am the proud owner of a (restricted) Suzuki SV650.

I've been riding for over 3 years now, having completed my CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) at 16 and doing my theory and A1 tests at 17 and my A2 test at 19. In just under two years, at 21, I can do another test to gain my unrestricted A licence. It will have taken me 5 years to get there but it'll be great when I do.

The reason I only hold an A2 licence rather than the full, unrestricted, A licence is due to the UK government changing the law following the EU directive passed through to be enforced in January 2012. They changed the law just under one month after my 17th birthday and I tried to pass before they changed it but, unfortunately, my Module 2 test was cancelled due to snow even though I was sat at the test centre desperately wanting to go out on test. If I had passed my test under the old laws, my licence would've automatically upgraded at 19 to the A licence. I did eventually pass in the February and therefore so far in my motorcycling lifetime, I have completed my A1 licence (up to 125cc) and then did my test again to gain my A2 licence.

3 years may seem like nothing compared to how long some people have been riding but I have also been riding as a pillion on the back of my dad's bike from the age of 5 so I've been around them for a long time! I've also done a few big trips which has definitely bumped up the seat time to something probably way above average for someone who has only been riding for 3 years.

If you want to get in touch, either leave a comment or find my contact details on the Contact page - It would be great to hear from you!

Ride safe,
Charly
